SACRAMENTAL PREPARATION - Parent Meetings on Penance

I will be offering several meetings for parents about preparation for the Sacrament of Reconciliation within the next week and a half. You are cordially invited to attend one of the sessions, particularly if you have not had a child go through the St. Thomas Aquinas Sacramental Preparation program in the past.

Sessions will be offered at the following times:
Friday, Dec. 11 – 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. (Reconciliation Chapel)
Sunday, Dec. 13 – 8:30 – 9:30 a.m. (School Library)
Sunday, Dec. 13 – 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. (School Library)
Sunday, Dec. 13 – 5 – 6 p.m. . (School Library)
Monday, Dec. 14 - 4:30 - 5:30 p.m. (Reconciliation Chapel)
Tuesday, Dec. 15 – 7 – 8 p.m. (Reconciliation Chapel)
Wednesday, Dec. 16 – noon - 1:00 p.m. (Reconciliation Chapel)

The Reconciliation Chapel is in the northwest corner of the church building. The school library is in the middle of the center wing of the school. Since space is limited for each session, please call ahead to reserve a space (332-0064).

We have three primary goals: The first is to give you an overview of our program of preparation and familiarize you with some of the materials we use. The second is to provide you with some new ways to think about this sacrament. Finally, we hope to offer encouragement and support as you lead your child through this important year of faith formation.

At the meeting your will receive a copy of this year's Family Handbook on Reconciliation. The Handbook offers practical information as well as some helpful material about the Sacrament, itself.

Occasionally parents have a lot of questions about the sacrament or feel that their lack of appreciation for it will interfere with their ability to teach their children. If this is the case we encourage you to call our office. One of our priests or I are more than willing to see you individually to answer your concerns.

Please call 332-0064 or e-mail akitching@stachurch.net or respond on this blog if you have any questions!
